VAN GOGH COLLECTION
These one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by Van Gogh’s paintings were originally designed for the Immersive Van Gogh exhibits. These handmade pieces of art showcase an intriguing mix of natural as well as man made elements. All these stones and metals are woven together to capture the essence of many of Van Gogh’s paintings.
The Starry Night Collection
The Starry Night Collection features handmade, lampwork glass. The striations and inclusions which occur naturally within this glass mimic the swirling brushstrokes of this painting. Along with other elements such as electroplated haematite and natural stone this collection attempts to recreate the sparkling, dreamlike effect so prevalent in this artwork.
The Sunflower Collection
The Sunflower Collection, differs from the Starrry Night collection as it utilizes porcelain and stones to gives these pieces an earthier quality which is a distinctive feature of Van Gogh’s Sunflower series. Sometimes lampwork glass is used in these pieces but unlike the Starry Night collection which is luminous and sparkles, the glass here is more subdued with more matte colours.
The Almond Blossom Collection
The Almond Blossom Collection heavily relies on natural stones to capture the essence of the Almond Blossom painting. Dyed howlite and reconstituted stones form the bulk of this collection offset with small pearls and enamel floral elements to capture the the softer, more delicate quality of this painting.
